OASIS OF THE GRAN TURNA
“Oasi dell Gran Turna” is a modern picnic area located along the eponymous trail in the hamlet of Sala. It is reachable with a short walk from the center of the hamlet (where you currently are). The project had been followed by city councilor Luca Versino, in collaboration with vice-mayor Stefano Olocco. They deemed it essential to create a resting space not only for the residents of Borgata Sala but also for tourists visiting the area.
Located in front of the “Pilone Nostra Signora delle Vigne”, the area offers a place for rest and relaxation after a walk or a bike ride. It features picnic tables, a fountain, and a small box dedicated to bookcrossing, an initiative for book exchange, created by artisan Mauro Lanzoni. This space allows people to share books and culture, encouraging them to take and leave books on their own. Oasi della Gran Turna has become a reference point for the local community and visitors, providing an area of tranquillity within the picturesque setting of Borgata Sala.
The land on which the Gran Turna oasis stands has been donated by Mr. Ugo Re and is now a functional space for everyone. Without the contribution and generosity of Mr. Ugo Re, this project would not have been possible, and the community of Borgata Sala is deeply grateful to him.
Il terreno su cui sorge l’oasi della Gran Turna, donato dal signor Ugo Re, è stato trasformato da un semplice prato ad uno spazio accogliente e funzionale per tutti. Senza il contributo e la generosità del signor Ugo Re, questo progetto non sarebbe stato possibile, e la comunità di borgata Sala gli è profondamente grata.
